eConnect and Verint
Before comparing anything, one fact saves a great deal of time: the Verint line that gaming knows for video and situational intelligence does not carry the Verint name any more.
What Verint is, and what eConnect is
Verint built a large installed base in enterprise video management and situational awareness, gaming included. That business was spun out and renamed. It became Cognyte Situational Intelligence Solutions, and after Volaris Group acquired it, it took the name Intellicene. If a surveillance director is comparing eConnect against the Verint system on their floor today, the product line they mean is now Intellicene.
That matters for a second reason. Video management and identity intelligence are different layers of the same stack, and they are not substitutes. A video management system records, retains, and presents video across an estate of cameras. It answers where the video is. It does not answer who that is, whether they have been here before, or what they rang up at the register.
eConnect is the identity layer that sits on top. It reads the video the property already records, recognizes the person, and joins that person to the identification scanned at the door, the plate in the lot, and the transaction at the register.
Verint is an enterprise software vendor with a long history in video and situational intelligence.

eConnect and Verint, answered
- Is the Verint video product still called Verint?
- The video and situational intelligence business was spun out and renamed. It became Cognyte Situational Intelligence Solutions and then, following its acquisition by Volaris Group, Intellicene. Gaming properties running what they still call the Verint system are generally running that line.
- Does eConnect replace a video management system?
- No. eConnect reads the video an existing platform records and adds the identity layer on top. Intellicene is an eConnect integration partner, and recognition results are pushed back into the alert workflow the operator already uses.
- What should I actually compare?
- Compare layers, not logos. For the video layer, compare recording, retention, camera support, and estate management. For the identity layer, compare where matching runs, whether one photograph returns a full sighting history, whether faces join to identification, plates, and transactions, and what the audit trail looks like when a regulator asks.
